In the bilingual (Spanish and English) Technical Memo,On the Weather of Venezuela,the methodology and execution of the Venezuela meteorological and hydrological experiments of 1969and 1972are discussed first. Then the radiation balance and water balance at the ground are presented and analyzed for an area with about 100km radius,followed by a description of the modes of precipitation,the mesoscale rainfall systems,and their observation by radar. The various types of synoptic weather systems are shown,including those arriving from the Atlantic and from South America. Their vertical structure and impact on Venezuela weather are considered. Longer term considerations are offered,especially wet and dry seasons as related to basic current structure. The tools available for forecasting are summarized.
