This report has been developed as part of the Coordinating Center Models Project (CCMP). The CCMP is supported through a contract with the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) and is designed to provide general information on the organization and conduct of multicenter trials with emphasis on the coordinating centers in such trials. This report contains CCMP manuscripts presented at the 1977, 1978, and 1979 symposia on Coordinating Clinical Trials. Topics included are: Organization and management principles as applied to coordinating center operation; activity analysis of data coordinating centers; cost profiles; and recommendations and comments on the organization of multicenter trials.
