Northeast Rainfed Agricultural Development Project - An Opportunity Framework

Exhaustion of the land frontier and the twin risks of crop failure due to weather and price failure due to fluctuating world markets require that new sources of income and productivity be found for farmers in the predominantly rainfed areas of Northeast Thailand. As part of a prefeasibility study for the Northeast Rainfed Agricultural Development Project, this report outlines major strategic and project intervention elements, together with key organizational issues, for development of the region.
