GAO Findings on Federal Internal Audit--A Summary

摘要

The report summarizes our experiences over the past 4 years in reviewing Federal internal audit organizations and discusses their need for more staffing and management attention. Our review was made to give internal audit organizations and the new Offices of Inspector General in the executive branch a broad perspective on the status of internal auditing in the Government.
