Formation and Development of Independent Businesses as an Economic Development Tool

摘要

The purpose of this study was to examine the extent to which entrepreneual selection skills developed by private venture development and management firms could be transfered to a public economic development agency. The study consist of six major sections: (1) the role of small businesses in job creation (2) difficulties in developing small businesses especially in rural areas (3) small business workshops (4) capability of public officials to assist small businesses (5) case study of establishing a small business and (6) examination of alternative methods of financing venture development on a public basis.
