摘要

Archeological survey and testing was initiated on the Porcupine River, Alaska, in 1978 and continued during the 1979 and 1980 field seasons. The primary objective was to locate archeological evidence that would document the presence of Man in Alaska during the late Pleistocene. A total of sixty-seven sites have been located to date, and they are described in this report. The majority of the archeological sites were located in places where natural erosion or subsurface disturbance of some sort had occurred. Many of these sites yielded artifacts that were eroding from buried or stratified contexts.
