Preliminary Assessment of Archaeological and Architectural Resources Along the ARS (Adopted Regional System) Modified and Suitland Parkway Alignments of the Metrorail Green Line (F-Route) in the District of Columbia
The purpose of this project was to determine whether cultural resources, particularly historic structures eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places, existed within the two alternatives to the planned Metro-Rail-F-Route. The archaeological investigation consisted of a review of earlier investigations and studies pertinent to the study areas as well as a visual inspection. The architectural investigation consisted of a survey of approximately 200 structures in Southeast Washington, D.C. Each structure was inspected and a written description made. The potential impacts of the two alternate alignments were examined in light of the cultural resources.
