An optimizing development was carried out for bipolar stepping motors for quartz clocks aiming for the best cost-performance ratio. Alternatives concerning stator assembly, stator material and rotor material in conjunction with drive are shown in accordance with the objective. The specifications for an integrated circuit are defined with regard to motor drive, also buzzer systems including drive are investigated for the optimum cost-performance ratio. Furthermore possibilities for a larger integration depth (Hybrid assembly system) of IC and quartz crystal are discussed in view of automatic oscillator frequency alignment.
