摘要

Should Port Manatee function as a service base for Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) oil and gas exploratory and development activity, up to 75 acres of land, 10,000 square feet of office space an 800 linear feet of berthage would be necessary to adequately support OCS related facility and service requirements. In order to meet the OCS related requirements, Port Manatee would need to reserve existing, unassigned port owned land for OCS use, make significant structural improvements to an existing berth and extend roadways, drainageways and railways to service OCS development sites within the port. These improvements, along with the presence of OCS related industry at Port Manatee, could result in potential losses of valuable environmental and recreational resources at the port.
