Improved Leak-Repair Methods: Topical Report on Survey of Materials aand Evaluation of Concepts for Cleaning/Priming Gas Distribution Pipelines Prior to Repair

The research described in this report was undertaken to generate and evaluate cleaning/priming concepts for use on natural gas distribution pipelines prior to leak-repair procedures. This effort involved two main tasks. First, a comprehensive literature survey, supplemented with information from industrial chemical suppliers, was conducted to identify cleaning/priming materials and methods as well as corrosion materials. And second, more than thirty cleaning/priming concepts were generated and evaluated.
