Job Corps Vocational Education Offerings Review. Documentation Report No. 3: Assessing Training Requirements for High Demand Occupations Suitable for Job Corps

This report identifies (1) high growth occupations in which Job Corps is not currently providing training, (2) high growth occupations in which Job Corps is providing training to a minimal number of students, and (3) information on the training requirements of the occupations that appear feasible for future Job Corps training. Each occupation from the list in Documentation Report No. 2 was evaluated using the following criteria: absolute change in number of jobs is projected to increase 10,000 or more by 1990; percent growth is projected to be at least 18.5%; requires education level of high school or less; requires training time of 2 years or less; employer hiring practices are commensurate with Job Corps students experience, and review by a panel of Job Corps national office staff.
