This volume contains the recommended content and instructional approach guidelines for a K-12 traffic safety curriculum. Included in this document are: an overview of instruction recommended in four traffic safety areas (i.e., occupant, alcohol, pedestrian and bicycle safety); a discussion of estimated teaching time projected for one academic year; the critical information students in grades K through 12 should be taught about traffic safety; and the most suitable approach for teaching traffic safety according to the developmental capabilities of students.
