Portable System for Extraction of Organics from Thousand Liter Volumes of Seawater

The need to obtain gram quantities of dissolved organic matter has led us to build a seagoing facility for the extraction of large volumes of seawater. Our system is capable of extracting 1500 liters in less than one day. The unit described here has numerous applications to a wide range of chemical oceanographic problems.
