Intensive Archaeological Survey of Taylor Rock, Refuge and Beckwourth Timber Sales, Plumas National Forest, Plumas County, California

Plumas National Forest proposes to sell timber on three parcels of land in Plumas County, comprising approximately 4,500 acres administered by the forest. The goals of the project were to locate and record all cultural resources within the areas designated as Taylor Rock, Refuge and Beckwourth Timber Sales and to provide sufficient data for the Forest Service to determine National Register significance of the sites. The survey resulted in the location of nine prehistoric, nine historic and five sites with both prehistoric and historic components, as well as 62 isolated finds. Seventeen typable projectile points were collected and suggest a chronological framework from circa 3000 BC to ethnographic present.
