Managing Federal Information Resources: Third Annual Report Under the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1980

The Paperwork Reduction Act of 1980 directs the Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to report annually to the Congress on OMB and agency activities undertaken to implement the Act. This is the third annual report under the Act. This report highlights the efforts and accomplishments of the past year under the Act, such as the achievements of considerably exceeding the three-year paperwork reduction goal specified in the Act, increasing efficiencies by agencies in managing information resources, and completion of the redefinition of Metropolitan Statistical Areas based on the 1980 Census of Population. The report also includes plans for continuing progress in achieving the Act's objectives in future years.
