Forensic Analysis of a Prehistoric Interment, Bonaparte Creek, Okanogan County, Washington

An isolated human skeleton found in July, 1983, near Tonasket, Washington was that of a robust, yound adult, Native American male. Occurrence of impact fractured projectile points, including one embedded in a rib, combine with regionally unusual cranial deformation to give this single find disproportionate archaeological and ethnohistoric value. The concept of Columbia Plateau pacifism is discussed in light of this discovery.
