Compendium of New Drug Approvals in Eleven Industrialized Countries, 1970-1983

This document is a compendium of 723 new chemical entities (NCEs) first approved between 1970 and 1983 on an aggregate 11-country market (Australia, Canada, France, The Federal Republic of Germany, Italy, Japan, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States). It is intended for use as a reference by regulatory officials, industry, and academia. The compendium lists official dates of approval for marketing in each country, if applicable. Each NCE is listed alphabetically by a non-proprietary name and is cross-referenced by known synonyms. An appendix to the compendium lists post-1970 approval dates for 367 NCEs first approved before 1970 on the aggregate 11-country market by at least one country. The compendium also includes a section that illustrates uses of the data, and their versatility.
