The FBI Laboratory hosted the symposium July 30 - August 1, 1985 at the Forensic Science Research and Training Center, Quantico, Virginia. Presentations were made by prominent scientists on topics such as paper, writing ink, printing ink and typewriter manufacturing and on methods for analysis of non-handwritten documents. There were also presentations on the examination of credit cards and photocopy machines and the examination of computer crimes by the questioned document examiner.
