CERES-Maize: A Simulation Model of Maize Growth and Development

CERES-Maize, like the similar model CERES-Wheat, is a user-oriented, daily-incrementing simulation model of maize growth, development, and yield. It is available in two versions. The standard version simulates the effects of genotype, weather, and soil properties on maize growth and yield. The nitrogen version also simulates soil and plant nitrogen dynamics and their effects on the crop. CERES-Maize was developed by the United States Department of Agriculture. CERES-Maize is a multipurpose simulation model that can be used for within-year crop management decisions.
