Economic Applications of Assembly Robots, Report No. 4. The Development of a Programmable Belt Feeder for Handling Rectangular Flat Parts in a Robot Assembly System

Reprogrammable means of feeding and orienting rectangular parts are discussed in the report. The first part of the report concerns itself with the positioning of sensory devices to determine part orientation. Later sections describe the development of a feeder that is designed to take randomly oriented rectangular parts and feed them to a specific location in a predetermined orientation.
