Determination of Solids and Water Content of Highly Concentrated Sludge Slurries and Cakes

New methods have been developed for determination of water content, total solids, total suspended solids (TSS) total volatile suspended solids (TVSS) and total fixed suspended solids (TFSS) of highly concentrated pulp, sludge slurries and sludge cakes. The volume of such highly concentrated sludges cannot be measured easily, thus the Standard Methods for TSS, TVSS and TFSS analyses are not applicable.
