The Third Advanced Coal Gasification Symposium, held in Beijing, China in 1985, was sponsored by the Beijing Association for Science and Technology and the Beijing Energy Society. Introductory information on China's coal industry and on atmospheric pollution, opening and closing speeches, summaries of the technical sessions, and lists of delegates are included. Nine papers presented by the international delegation of specialists discuss current coal gasification processes and environmental aspects of coal gasification. Appendices include data on coal mine design and coal research institutes in China and on the facilities of the Ministry of Coal Industry.
