Training of Trainers' Workshop for Launching an Oral Rehydration Therapy Campaign in Togo. Volume 1. Summary of Three Training Workshops

Training of trainers workshops were held in three Togolese towns for social sanitation field agents who were to train village women in the preparation and use of oral rehydration therapy (ORT). The workshops focused on: a review of basic training and health education concepts; intermediate training skills acquisition; study of the manual designed for training village women in ORT; logistical planning for launching the ORT campaign. The workshops emphasized experiential learning, and all information was adapted for use at the village level. The report briefly describes the planning and implementation of the workshops, summarizes participant and trainer evaluations, and provides recommendations for follow-up activities. Materials developed for the workshops are appended, including agenda and the French-language training guide designed for use by field agents.
