New Horizons in Electrochemical Science and Technology

摘要

The report reviews the status of current knowledge of electrochemical science and technology and makes recommendations for future research and development in the multidisciplinary field. New technological opportunities in diverse applications--including batteries and fuel cells, biomedical and health-care practices, coatings and films, corrosion, surface processing, manufacturing and waste utilization, membranes, microelectronics, and sensors--are identified. Opportunities for cross-cutting research in key areas that will provide the technology base needed in the future are delineated, and the socioeconomic impact of electrochemistry is outlined and compared with current federal support levels.
