Consequences of Deforestation for Women's Time Allocation, Agricultural Production, and Nutrition in Hill Areas of Nepal

The report examines the effects of deforestation in Nepal on time allocation (particularly of women), agricultural output, food consumption, and nutrition, using cost in time spent collecting fuel as the measure. The study concludes that deforestation reduces agricultural output from existing cultivated land by increasing time spent in collecting essential forest products, thus diverting time away from farming.
