Characteristics of Successful Procurement and Financial Investigations: A Report of the Committee on Investigations and Law Enforcement

The report presents the results of a study on the characteristics of successful procurement and financial investigations conducted by the Offices of Inspectors General. Initiated in September 1986 by the Inspector General of the Department of Energy, the study was designed and directed by a task group comprised primarily of investigative personnel from the Offices of Inspectors General and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The study was undertaken as a project for the Investigations and Law Enforcement Committee of the President's Council on Integrity and Efficiency.
