Light Vehicle Antilock Brake Research Program. Report No. 1. Evaluation of an Electronic Four Sensor Three Circuit Integrated System

The report examines the braking performance enhancements possible with the installation of a particular antilock brake system (ABS) in a light hydraulically braked test vehicle. Evaluations were made by comparing the controllability and stopping distance of the test vehicle with its ABS operational to that with it disabled. A broad range of test conditions, including various braking and turning maneuvers on various surfaces from various speeds were utilized. The vehicle was tested empty and fully loaded.
