摘要

The octree encoding applied to geostatistical estimation techniques allowsmorphological modelling of an orebody, at different discretization levels. The possibility of spatial indexing allied to the pre-ordered nature presented by octree encoding simplify operations such as locating blocks in a three-dimensional space, searching of neighbors, model compression, as well as interception and union of local models into global ones. To illustrate the advantages of using octree encoding in the geostatistical algorithms of estimation, there is presented a case study characterizing, in two different levels, the shape of a copper sulfide deposit.
