The man/machine interface remains the most difficult problem in teleoperator design. Development of an effective manipulator control concept will be of major importance to a comprehensive teleoperator technology development program. To date, a number of manipulator control concepts have been proposed for application to on-orbit teleoperators. Each control concept has its own unique advantages and disadvantages.
