The objectives of the program conducted under NASA Lon tract NAS3-18529 were to evaluate two classes of high temperature pasties (molded as fusty- and second-stage rod seals) to application in advanced aircraft l) drably systems, and to compare molded seal performance to that of machined seals developed during the NAS3-14317 contract these objectives were accomplished by conducting tests on the 35 cm (2 5 in ) Chevron seal to determine molded-element structural intent during 200 000 applications ot pressure impulse cycling and maternal wear during 385 I06 cycles ot endurance actuation
