Indicating Cones and the Intersection Principle for Tangential Approximants in Abstract Multiplier Rules

A partial ordering is established by generality among several specific notions of tangential approximation in the literature. The theory is unified through the introduction of an indicating cone. For solid cones, all notions of tangential approximant considered coincide.
