Coupled Flexural Torsional Vibration of an Eccentrically Stretched Strip

Flat rectangular strips subjected to an eccentric axial load exhibit coupled transverse lateral torsional modes of vibration. The coupling between the transverse lateral and torsional modes depends on the axial load and the amount of eccentricity. The effect is to increase the torsional frequency and to decrease the transverse lateral frequency.
