Digital-Analog- und Analog-Digital-Wandlung MIT Hilfe Puls-Dauer-Modulation (Digital to Analog and Analog to Digital Conversion Using Pulse Duration Modulation)

The possibilities of pulse duration modulation (PDM) in analog to digital (A/D) and digital to analog (D/A) conversion were investigated for a speech converter. The example of a large scale integration (LSI) circuit design is discussed. The comparison between practical measurements on LSI component and calculations using the simulation model demonstrates the efficiency of the method. The results show that A/D and D/A converters can be realized using the PDM method for the telephone speech frequency range.
