The Attitude and Orbital Control System (AOCS) is a basic component of a satellite. In order to guarantee the correct performance of the AOCS, exhaustive testing has to be done in a laboratory, both at component and at system level. This work intends to present first the implementation of an AOCS Simulation Laboratory by INPE's Space Mechanics and Control Department, as an example case, briefly showing the technological results already accomplished. It presents as well the basic aspects related to design, manufacture, and tests of a one degree-of-freedom servo rate table. It also describes, at an introductory level, the design of a second controlled axis for the table.
