摘要

The study and design of a reaction wheel experimental model are presented. A reaction wheel is used in the fine control of artificial satellite attitude by exchanging angular momentum between the wheel and the satellite. Reaction wheels consist, basically, of an electric motor that drives the wheel and is commanded by an electronic module that controls its torque or its speed. This electronic module is connected to the satellite attitude and orbit control logic module. The work is divided into the following steps: analysis of the several momentum actuators focusing in particular ball and magnetic bearing reaction wheels; settlement of specifications and mechanical design; analysis, design, and digital simulation of the speed control system; characterization tests and their comparison with results for reaction wheels available in the market; and performance tests and their comparison with the results from digital simulation.
