Water Vapor Retrievals through the 3I (Improved Initialization Inversion) System: Application to Tropospheric Altimetry Correction

摘要

The 3I method is refined and applied to the retrieval of water vapor fields under various meteorological conditions, for various geographical areas and at global scale. Comparisons with conventional analyses or radiosondes are performed. A product based upon a mixing of 3I retrievals for clear or partly cloudy areas and the European center for medium range weather forecast analysis for overcast areas is proposed.
