摘要

Experiments at high forward and vertical acceleration have been conducted to examine the restraint of the Gannet underwater escape harness under the conditions of crash deceleration and parachute development respectively. The restraint to forward acceleration was found to be inadequate and the harness was uncomfortable under vertical acceleration.nRecommendations are proposed to make the harness safe and comfortable for flight.nSupplementary recommendations and a strapping-in procedure are listed.
