Presenting Modeling and Simulation Results Using Web-Based Tools: New211 Methodologies for Customer Feedback and Data Archiving

This paper discusses the use of Internet and Web technology to assist analysts in211u001edocumenting, presenting, and archiving ABAQUS simulation results. Prior to the 211u001eimplementation of this technology, analysts frequently completed projects by 211u001edistributing a limited number of color plots, storing analysis notes in paper 211u001efiles, and archiving design and finite element model data to magnetic tape. Using 211u001ethe Internet and Web-based technology, an analysis home page was developed to 211u001eprovide a common location for analysis information. The home page provides 211u001einstant publishing and distribution of analysis results that can be viewed by 211u001eusers with high-end workstations or common personal computers. Detailed reports 211u001ecan include text, tables, photographs, plots, animations, video, and audio. The 211u001eWeb-based sharing of ABAQUS analysis results has been embraced by customers and 211u001ehas become a common tool for the analyst. In conjunction with being a 211u001epresentation medium, the format also allows for report archiving and results data 211u001estorage.
