Representation of numbers by states in quantum mechanics

The representation of numbers by tensor product states of composite quantumsystems is examined. Numbering maps are introduced that interpolate between number string states and physical parameter based states. The main condition that the basic arithmetic operations be efficiently implement able is discussed.
