摘要

The uptake front ingestion or from solution, the internal distribution, retention, and biological half-life of Sr89 was studied in several genera of fish. These studies indicate that approximately 95 per cent of the oral dose is eliminated in from one to four days, depending upon the species of fish, Of the Sr89 remaining in the fish after a few day3, about 95 per cent is present in the structural tissues, i.e., the skin, muscle, gills, opercular bones, and skeleton. The biological half-life of Sr89 in the internal organs of tuna is les3 than 24 hours, depending upon the organ, but the half-life of Sr89 in the structural tissues is probably in excess of one year. Neither the size of the dose nor repetitive feeding has any effect on the internal distribution or the percentage of the dose retained after several days.
