MEASUREMENT OF THE VISCOSITIES OF KBeF3 AND NaBeF3 AND SOME OBSERVATIONS ON (LiF-BeF2;50-50 Mol %)

This study was carried out to ascertain the relative effects of equimolar quantities of the cations KF, NaF and LiF on the viscosities of fluoride mixtures containing BeF2. It has been noted, however, that the viscosities of mixtures containing BeF2 are a continuous function of the weight percent of BeF2 present, the viscosity increasing with increases in the weight percent of BeF2. It appears that in mixtures containing less than about 30 weight percent, the viscosity does not change appreciably with the amount of BeF2 present.
