General conditions are derived for the propagation of waves of the purely electric and magnetic types in a generalized cylindrical system of conducting, dielectric, or magnetic boundaries subject only to the restriction that the media are lossless, and no more than two in number.nAn example is worked out to demonstrate the general nature of the waves propagated.
