摘要

This report contains a discussion of the preliminary design parameters, cost estimates and schedules for a gas cooled, natural uranium, graphite moderated power plant referred to as the GCPR. The plant is designed as a 55 mw (net electrical) prototype of an optimum plant rated at 220 mw (net electrical). The GCPR, designed for location at the National Reactor Testing Station in Idaho, consists primarily of one muitlpurpose building which houses the reactor plant, turbine generator, warehouses, and offices. Other facilities include the induced draft cooling tower, a substation and necessary utilities.
