High-silicon aluminum cladding for hot die sized fuel elements: Interim report

摘要

A tentative process for fabricating high-silicon alloy hot die sized fuel elements has been established. Good diffusion bonding has been produced at lower temperatures than used for the standard hot die sizing process using 8001 aluminum alloy. Fabrication of pieces for irradiation testing was deferred due to inconclusive results of initial corrosion tests. Corrosion testing was continued.
