A WIRE-WINDING AND TENSIONING MACHINE FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF PROPORTIONAL WIRE PLANES AND WIRE SPARK CHAMBERS

The construction of promotional wire planes (pwp) and wire spark chambers requires the laying of wires at equal spacing and tension to form wire planes. This can be recompleted by manually placing wires in machined grooves and stretching them to a specified tension with weights. This procedure is quite time consuming but it can be automated by using a type of weaving machine or a wire-winding machine such as is described in this note.
