摘要

All of the experimental and analytical results described in this report involve the reactivity worth of lumped poison materials. The measurements were made at the Modified HTGR Critical Facility in a carbon moderated critical assembly that was characterized by a C/U-235 atom ratio of 2500 and C/Th atom ratio of 200. This is part of the Base Program development of large HTGR-type reactor systems.nThe poison materials utilized in the program consisted of natural boron carbide and hafnium carbide. They were contained in cylindrical rods up to 3.50 inches CD. The following is a brief outline of the experimental program that was conducted.
