Study on the Distribution of Trace Elements Along the Lower Chao Phya River by Neutron Activation

Instrumental neutron activation analysis was used to measure the concentrations of Al, Sr, Cu, Br, Mn, Cr, Sb, Sc, Fe and Co in surface water samples collected along the Chao Phva River during the period April-August 1974. The elements were separated into 3 groups based on the irradiation times. Except in the case of long-irradiation group, no pre- or post-concentration of samples was needed. Sodium was removed from the intermediate irradiation group by adsorption on hydrated antimony pentoxide (HAP). No other chemical separation procedure was required. The results on the analysis for 40 samples are given. (Atomindex citation 16:063595)
