Analysis of Some Errors in the Experimental Determination of the Harmonic Content of Multipole Magnets

In order to determine the harmonic content of a multipole magnet, one usually measures the flux intercepted by a measuring coil system in several orientations, harmonically analyzes this raw data and then subjects it to some more, usually quite simple and straightforward, data reduction. We want to discuss here how various error sources affect the results of the harmonic analysis of the raw data.
