The cost of household thermal energy storage (TES) in four utility service areas that are representative for hot water,space heating,and space cooling systems in the United States is presented. There are two major sections of the report:Section 2.0is a technology characterization of commercially available and developmental/conceptual TES systems;Section 3.0is an evaluation of the consumer cost of the three TES systems based on typical designs in four utility service areas.
