摘要

Eight mean particle diameter techniques (Average, Geometric, Harmonic, Length, Surface, Volume, Weight, and Volume-Surface) were studied, and changes in the heat transfer rate were identified for six of these techniques. Consistent changes in the heat transfer rate were not identified for the Weight and Volume-Surface mean particle diameter techniques. Heat transfer coefficients were also correlated with mean particle diameters and with empirical equations used to predict heat transfer coefficients.
